Dr. Jenkins is a strong believer in early intervention for spinal stabilization and mobilization to speed recovery after spinal trauma. We perform surgery or other procedures for cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral fractures, as well as to decompress epidural hematomas, treat herniated disks, and repair spinal instability or dislocations. We perform both maximally invasive and minimally invasive procedures for spinal stabilization and treatment of spinal compression. This includes thoracoscopic instrumentation, as well as minimally invasive approaches to the spine of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions, and other techniques.
Dr. Jenkins accepts transfers to Mount Sinai from other hospitals if he thinks he can help. In addition, the Mount Sinai Department of Rehabilitation Medicine runs at Mount Sinai one of the premier spine and spinal cord injury (SCI) rehabilitation programs, including a MODEL SCI inpatient rehab floor.
